Apertura Uj 16 in grande stile con la 'Napoli' di Massimo Ranieri
Una serata davvero particolare quella di ieri sera all'Arena Santa Giuliana, che ha visto salire sul palco principale di Umbria Jazz, non solo il poliedrico mattatore Massimo Raneri, ma anche cinque stelle del jazz italiano, prima data del loro tour estivo. Un'inedita formazione jazz composta da Enrico Rava alla tromba, Stefano Di Battista ai sassofoni, Rita Marcotulli al pianoforte, Riccardo Fioravanti al contrabbasso e Stefano Bagnoli alla batteria. La stessa che ha dato vita al recente progetto "Malìa-Napoli 1950-1960, una rilettura in chiave jazz delle più belle canzoni napoletane d'autore.
Ad aprire la serata del Santa Giuliana ci hanno pensato Sammy Miller & The Congration, espressione più vera e attuale del jazz newyorchese. Un concerto dinamico ed insolito, che ha visto i musicisti esibirsi anche in mezzo alla platea. Un inizio davvero entusiasmante
